ALBUM RELEASE RECAP

The Tones are a Southern California reggae/ska/punk powerhouse bringing the spirit of ’90s reggae-punk into a new generation. The trio delivers a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Songs like “High Tide” and “Drink Till We Die” showcase their signature mix of upbeat rhythms, raw emotion, and high-energy performances that keep crowds moving from the first note to the last.

Formed in the San Diego area, The Tones draw inspiration from legendary acts such as Sublime, Pepper, and Slightly Stoopid while carving out a style all their own. The band features Anthony Velador (vocals/guitar), Matthew Richards (drums), and Drew Obeso (bass).

A true road-tested band, The Tones have completed multiple national tours and shared stages with artists including Agent Orange, Kaleo Wassman of Pepper, EN Young, and Miles Doughty. They’ve also performed on the main stage at the legendary House of Blues San Diego and appeared at iconic venues such as Whisky a Go Go.

The band’s self-titled debut EP, The Tones, was released in 2018 and recorded at the renowned 17th Street Recording with producer Lewis Richards. Now, with their debut full-length album Two Weeks Notice available everywhere, The Tones continue to build momentum through relentless touring, energetic live shows, and a dedication to keeping reggae, ska, and punk alive for a new generation.

The Tones aren’t just reviving the sound of the ‘90s—they’re carrying it forward. 🤙🎶
